The Yoga Institute
Established by Shri Yogendraji in 1918- The Yoga Institute (TYI) has seen three generations of Yogendra’s work with utmost dedication for 100years in terms of promotion and development of holistic Yoga for every section of society both locally and globally.
Over the years, TYI has burgeoned from being visited by seven sadhakas a day to receiving thousands of sadhakas a day. TYI has seen famous film stars, influential politicians, learned scientists, professors to common man all learning Yoga side-by-side without prejudice.
TYI has made significant contributions in areas like yoga education, research, experiential learning, standardisation of yoga practices and management.
TYI became the first QCI (Quality Council of India) certified yoga teacher training school in India. TYI has trained more than 50,000 Yoga teachers who are spreading the message of yoga to the world.
Dr. Hansaji- “First Lady of Yoga” (Director of TYI) made the nation proud by being the only lady yoga Guru to share the stage alongside-Honourable PM of India-Shri Narendra Modiji at the ‘First International Yoga Day’ (21 June 2015).
NCERT (National Council of Educational Research and Training) – In 1989 Dr. Jayadeva and Smt. Hansaji spearheaded the vital project of formulating Yoga education syllabus for schools nationwide.
Substantial Yoga Therapy research work by Dr. Hansaji and Dr. Jayadeva Yogendra on the treatment of Asthma, Diabetes, Orthopaedic disorders and Heart Diseases etc; have helped many. Few of the popular books authored and co-authored –

TYI under the guidance of Dr. Hansaji has conducted many social service initiatives for the betterment of society to mention a few; helping the underprivileged, special needs children (Physically and Mentally Challenged), marginalized communities especially women and children suffering from exploitation, abuse, malnutrition, HIV, AIDS, Juvenile programs, Women Rescue, Orphanages etc.
100 years of teaching, training, research and spreading yoga goodness in India and across the globe.
