Yogayan
The journey was actually started in the year 2014 as personal coach of local enthusiastic and officially started as an organization, named YOGAYAN in 2016, 02 August. It was only 7 boys & girls who kept faith on the vision of the organization and started the journey together.
First few months, it took time for mass awareness about the importance of Yoga, but within a span of a year in 2017, it started growing with a team of almost 170 people with 3 new branches in different locations, where both young & aged generations practicing Yoga regularly. On 1st year Anniversary, we participated in inter-club Yoga competition and started 1st blood-donation camp, then continued every year.
Next year in 2018, Team strength increased to almost 350. We started participating in District, State & National level, where our students topped the competitions in many occasions. 4 new branches opened this year for the people from remote areas and team continued growing exponentially.
Henceforth, we started free medical camps twice in a year, facilitated by renowned doctors with multi-speciality treatments and free medicines. This year in 2018, introduced 2 more wings “Dance Academy” and “Fitness Point” as part of Yogayan, where different dance forms like Indian, Western, Creative, Arabic, Yoga dance, fitness therapy etc. were taught by renowned professionals. The 2nd year Anniversary was made memorable as we distributed cloths, fruits, medicines and other necessities to the poor/distressed people. Arranged training as well for Asha Karmi sisters on the topic Diabetics, as instructed by Ayush Mantralaya.
The strength became 500 in 13 branches at the end of 2019. All the initiations & activities going on at full fledges. At that point, Yogayan emerged as one of the fastest & highest growing organization in Nadia district as well as in the state of West Bengal.
After that, as we all know the impact of pandemic COVID-19! All the branches bound to close immediately for indefinite time. The situation became very tough, all of a sudden! However, getting matured with the condition and with continuous request from our beloved students, we started online classes within 3 months. Believing on our willpower & determination, we organized “International Yoga Competition” for the first time where almost 900 Yoga enthusiastic & professionals participated from different corners of the World, like Bangladesh, Nepal, Thailand, Vietnam, France, Australia, USA and many more countries. The competition was remembered as “Stay Home, Stay Fit”. In consequence to this massive response for practicing Yoga at home, we organized 11 more competitions back-to-back in State, National & International level.
That time we strongly realised the importance of herbal medicine to strengthen our immunity to fight against the COVID. Organized different naturopathy camps to make aware among the people. This year in 2021, introduced another important vertical called “Yogayan Herbal Research Institute” with a purpose to uplift the importance of Yoga through education & application. Started different courses on Diploma in Yoga Education, Ayurveda Medicine, Naturopathy, Vedic Cultures, Sastras, Basics of Sanskrit, Chanting, Meditation, Massage Therapy and other spiritual practices. Also emphasized on “Train the Trainer” courses for creating more & more Yoga Instructors, who can lead through the vision of the organization.
With full of belief & commitment, Yogayan, now, needs right direction to sail through the challenges and proper guidance to build an effective system. Indian Yoga Association (IYA) plays an instrumental role to achieve the milestone.
