The Institute of Yoga & Nutrition Sciences (IYNS) has been diligently serving the people of Assam since its establishment in 2003, with an unwavering commitment to promoting Yoga, holistic health, and preventive wellness. Over the past two decades, IYNS has worked closely with various departments of the Government of Assam to advance public health through traditional yogic practices, community engagement, and scientific wellness initiatives.
From its inception, IYNS has focused on making Yoga accessible to all sections of society—students, women, elderly populations, frontline workers, persons with disabilities, and rural communities. In collaboration with government bodies, the institute has organized numerous yoga camps, wellness outreach programmes, school-based awareness sessions, district-level training initiatives, and state-supported health activities. These efforts have helped mainstream Yoga as a simple, affordable, and effective way to improve physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
IYNS has played a vital role in supporting government health missions, especially during statewide health observances, International Day of Yoga celebrations, and special wellness drives. Its Yoga Wellness Centres across Assam have strengthened community-level health promotion, offering regular yoga training, therapeutic sessions, and meditation programmes that benefit thousands of individuals every year.
By integrating traditional yogic wisdom with modern scientific principles, IYNS continues to assist the Government of Assam in building a healthier state. With consistent dedication, trained instructors, and structured programmes, the institute remains committed to expanding yoga awareness, improving public health indicators, and contributing to Assam’s vision of becoming a leading hub for Yoga and holistic wellness in Northeast India.
