With expertise in training Yoga teachers, Kamlesh has travelled far and wide from South America, Europe, Jordan, Oman, UAE, to Kazakhstan, Belarus, Russia, China, and South East Asia, helping yoga enthusiasts realise their true potential and inspire them to engage and contribute in the vision of creating a stress free society. Bestowed with the Vishalakshi Award for contribution to the field of Yoga, she has been instrumental in training individuals to develop the ability to effectively manage mind and emotions, eliminate stress, and promote harmony, amongst people from all walks of life, cultures, and religions, through very simple yet profound yogic techniques and Sudarshan Kriya.
Kamlesh has been a key member of the Quality Council of India (QCI) committee of Yoga experts, who have designed the scheme for voluntary certification of Yoga professionals as mandated by the Ministry of AYUSH, Govt. Of India to standardize and organize Yoga education and practice. She heads the Sri Sri Yoga globally with thousands trained and certified yoga teachers teaching a very well architected and balanced program comprising of a thorough discipline of yoga postures, breathing, meditation, and yogic knowledge. Known for her graceful asana practice, her classes are a blend of simplicity, fun, humor, and well explained yoga philosophy and knowledge. Serving as academic board member of the Yoga School at Sri Sri University in Bhubaneswar- India, Kamlesh provides her in-depth knowledge and experience in the field of yoga as visiting faculty and industry expert. She is also closely associated with ‘Gift a Smile’ project operational in more than 430 free schools in India, focusing on the care and education of the girl child. Through this program, children below poverty line are not only provided access to the basic needs of food, clothing, and education, but also encouraged to live their dreams.
Kamlesh Barwal: Kamlesh has successfully coordinated eight International Women’s Conferences since 2005 that converged thousands of brilliant and promising women leaders to deliberate and discuss ways of enabling women to achieve greater heights while performing the role of a catalyst in the positive transformation of society. As a multifaceted personality with astute management skills, Kamlesh was instrumental in establishing and leading the Human Resources department at the Art of Living International Centre in Bangalore, India for over two years while defining processes and documentation for more than 1000 resident volunteers. Kamlesh has contributed to hundreds of articles on Yoga to publications around the world as a subject matter expert. She has featured in leading television shows in numerous countries and represented Yoga on many National and International forums. She has also directed and acted in many yoga videos and tutorial films to inspire youth towards leading healthy and meaningful lives.
Born in the Himalayan state of Himachal Pradesh in India, Kamlesh is a Bachelor in Business Administration. This is where she initially turned to the Art of Living programs to find means of dealing with stress and anxiety. What began as a mere practice for a healthy body and relaxed mind, soon became a lifestyle and then there was no looking back.
