SRI SHANKARI INSTITUTE OF YOGA AND RESEARCH CENTER is located in Gummidipoondi, Thiruvallur District, Tamilnadu. This institute is run by Miss. S. Sandhya B.E., M.Sc., (Yoga and Naturopathy) as the founder cum Trainer.
From the age of 10, she has been practising Yogasana and She is running the above said institute for the past 12 years. From her childhood, she has won many international, National and State level titles in Yogasana competitions. She is a Gold medalist in, 2010 commonwealth Yogasana competition, held at Singapore.
She did 11 world Records in Yogasana. Recently, she got gold medal in international yogasana competition, held at Dubai.
Moreover, her professional training made, 17 of her students to achieve gold, silver and bronze medals in various age category in international yogasana competition held at dubai. Along with that 40 of her students achieved individual world records in Yogasana including Guiness Book of World Records. She made 7 group world records in yogasana with more than 100 participants every time.
For her outstanding performance in the field of Yoga, she received “Bodhi Dharma” Award from Tamilnadu Governor Dr.K.Rossaiah in the year 2015. Apart from that she also received “Best Yoga Teacher award”, ” Thirumoolar award”, ” Yoga charya award”, ” Wonder Women Award”, “Creative Yoga trainer award”, “Inspiring Women Award”, “Prominent Yoga instructor award”, ” Global inspiring Women Award”, ” Innovative yoga instructor award, Aram seiya virumbu Achiever’s award 2023.
Beyond that Awards and Achievements, she feel proud for conducting Free Surya Namaskar classes in rural area Government Schools of Tamilnadu. She motivate the rural school Students with certificates. Her journey to spread Yogasana in rural areas as a service to the society till continues. Many Articles regarding her achievements and Service has been published in English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil Newspapers and magazines.
